BOSTON – The Boston Bruins (41-24-8) avenged December’s loss with a six-goal showing against the Minnesota Wild (41-21-12) on Saturday evening at the TD Garden, beating them 6-3 for their 27th home win of the season.
Pavel Zacha (26) and Elias Lindholm (15) both scored twice, Andrew Peeke (5) and Viktor Arvidsson (21) picked up the other two.
Jeremy Swayman made 32 saves for the Bruins and recorded his 29th win of the year.
It only took 61 seconds for the game’s first goal.
David Pastrnak won the puck off the boards and played it back for Andrew Peeke. The Parkland, FL, native picked his spot and beat Filip Gustavsson high blocker-side.
The goal marked Peeke’s fifth of the season and first since December 29 in Calgary.
A few minutes later, Mark Kastelic and Michael McCarron exchanged blows during a fight in front of Jeremy Swayman’s net.

The Bruins’ second line added to their lead. Casey Mittelstadt sprung Viktor Arvidsson and Pavel Zacha into a 2-on-1 with a long outlet pass. Arvidsson played the puck through Brock Faber and onto the tape of Zacha’s stick, and he scored.
The Bruins were outshot 13-9 in the first period, but Jeremy Swayman stopped all of them.
Just over the 10-minute mark of the second period, Viktor Arvidsson connected off a cross-ice feed from David Pastrnak that beat Gustavsson.
The Bruins had 93 seconds of zone time before Arvidsson’s goal.
And Pastrnak extended his point streak to 12 games (7-13–20).
Kirill Kaprizov got the Wild on the board at the 14:46 mark of the second period.
The Wild outshot the Bruins through two periods, 25-21, while both teams were tied in hits (15) and faceoffs (18 of 36).
Elias Lindholm added to the Bruins’ lead at the 3:48 mark of the third period. Morgan Geekie pounced on the puck after a Wild faceoff win, and the Bruins set up shop in the offensive zone. Lukas Reichel found Elias Lindholm on the other end of the crease, and he tapped it into the open net.
Mats Zuccarello scored while the Wild had a two-minute 5-on-3.
Ryan Hartman followed with 6:16 left to play.
However, the Bruins were not done. Pavel Zacha connected for his second goal of the night shortly after the Wild made it a one-goal game. Casey Mittelstadt drove a shot on goal, and Zacha redirected it to Gustavsson’s right.
And to put the cherry on top, Elias Lindholm scored an empty net goal with 33.3 seconds remaining.
The Bruins are back on the ice on Sunday in Columbus, OH, when they take on the Blue Jackets (38-24-11) in the second leg of the back-to-back.
