The World Cup finals are underway, with Spain and Argentina clashing to determine which nation is the best at soccer. As if that wasn’t big enough, the proceedings also featured a showdown between combat sports announcers Michael Buffer and Bruce Buffer to introduce teams.
Michael Buffer has been the top ring announcer in boxing for decades with his ‘Let’s get ready to rumble!’ catchphrase. His half-brother Bruce has given him a run for his money by becoming the voice of the UFC with his equally popular ‘It’s time!’ slogan. Today the two went head to head at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Michael and Bruce Buffer are half-brothers, and Bruce managed Michael’s career through the 90s helping him monetize his iconic catchphrase.
This isn’t the first time the Buffer brothers have done announcements for this year’s World Cup. They were on hand for the semi-finals, with Michael introducing England vs. Argentina and Bruce doing France vs. Spain. This final is something special with the two having dueling intros.
