When the Cleveland Browns drafted Shedeur Sanders last week, analysts weighed in on the sudden competition developing at the quarterback position. Clearly, the Browns are comfortable with several names in that room and testing to see who is truly their best fit.

The same can be said for their backfield. Cleveland picked two quarterbacks and two running backs last weekend, selecting Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson during the final two days of the draft.

This followed with a decision on their projected No. 1 back Jerome Ford. He has accepted a salary reduction of $3.486 million to a guaranteed $1.75 million this season according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

For one, this almost certainly eliminates the possibility of a Nick Chubb return with the veteran now crowded out of the depth chart. Three running backs makes for a crowd and the Browns seem interested in letting these younger players get their run.

Chubb has tried to impress teams and showcase his ability with a number of workout videos posted to social media this spring. In these clips, it would be tough to identify Chubb as a player still coming off a number of injuries.

However, it appears his best hopes now are those videos and the rest of his track record helping him find a new team

That is still a possibility and Chubb may find his way back onto a roster and the field in 2025. But that team will not be the Browns who now turn to an impressive rookie class to bear the torch for the coming seasons.
