The Cleveland Browns are on the board in NFL free agency, signing former first round pick Zion Johnson to a three-year contract.
After four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, the 26-year-old guard heads to Cleveland, getting $16.5 million per year in the process. The Browns have guaranteed the first two years of his contract as well, giving him $32.5 million in guaranteed money.
A left guard for the Chargers, it can be assumed that he will hold down the same fort in Cleveland. This could also spell the end of the Joel Bitonio era for the Browns, who has until Wednesday to decide on whether to retire or return to the team for a 13th season.
This is the Browns' first free agency signing thus far, and it is on a young former first rounder who played his best football in 2025 for the Chargers. Speaking to a Chargers source, they stated, "I think this will age well for Cleveland."
