As the Cleveland Browns and general manager Andrew Berry continue to prepare for the 2026 NFL Draft, the excitement surrounding the fanbase has reached an all-time high with less than two weeks.
With two first-round picks in this year's draft (No. 6 and No. 24), the Browns possess a unique opportunity to reload multiple key positions on the offensive side of the ball this offseason. One of the top priorities for Berry and the front office will be addressing the starting left tackle spot, as the position was not filled during the 2026 NFL Free Agency period. Luckily for the struggling franchise, the answer may lie in round one of the draft.
According to Browns' insider Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland hosted Georgia offensive tackle and potential first-round pick Monroe Freeling for a top-30 visit before the upcoming draft.
Freeling, after a successful 2025 college football season with the Bulldogs, has quickly become one of the top offensive lineman prospects in this year's draft. Throughout the course of his last college season, the 6-foot-7, 315 lbs. tackle posted an 86.1 PFF pass blocking grade, while also allowing six quarterback hurries and two sacks on 469 pass blocking snaps.
As one of the few true left tackles in the 2026 NFL Draft class, Freeling's rare blend of size and athleticism will be his calling card heading into the draft. His impressive showing at the NFL Combine boosted his stock this offseason, as Freeling posted an outstanding 9.99 relative athletic score, a tool used to measure a prospect's athletic traits compared to other NFL players at the position.
If Berry and the Browns were to take a swing on the highly-touted lineman, the organization would likely have to use the No. 6 pick on Freeling. However, depending on whether or not Cleveland finds a trade-down partner, the Browns could find a way to land him with a top-15 pick. Other names to keep an eye on for potential first-round offensive linemen are Alabama's Kadyn Proctor and Utah's Caleb Lomu, who both played left tackle in college and recently took top-30 visits to Cleveland earlier this week.

Could Freeling solve the Browns' LT issue?

#Georgia OT Monroe Freeling is one of my favorite OTs in the 2026 draft.
Ideal frame at 6’7, 315 lbs, is very athletic at that size, finishes blocks with intensity, and very quick and effective hand placement. Potential 1st round pick in April. pic.twitter.com/mEu6efE0lI
