The Cleveland Browns’ coaching search took a surprising turn this morning as offensive wunderkind Grant Udinski officially withdrew his name from consideration.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the 30-year-old Jaguars offensive coordinator informed the front office he is no longer in the running. A move that surely stings a fanbase captivated by his cinematic backstory.

Udinski’s meteoric rise, from living out of his car at Baylor in 2019 to orchestrating the Jaguars' 2025 offense under Liam Coen, had made him a viral favorite in Cleveland over the recent weeks.

With Udinski out, the search narrows to a final showdown between current Rams passing game coordinator Nathan Scheelhaase and incumbent defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz. Browns leadership is reportedly in Los Angeles today for a second interview with Scheelhaase, signaling he may be the frontrunner for the job.

The team officially satisfied Rooney Rule requirements following a late-night session with Anthony Lynn on Saturday, clearing the path for an imminent hire.
