Bronny James roasted for being 'exposed again' in Lakers' surprise loss originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Los Angeles Lakers' first game since Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves went down with muscle injuries showed just how fragile the West's No. 3 seed is.
The Lakers suffered an upset loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, as Cooper Flagg's 45 points led Dallas to a 134-128 home win. From the Lakers' perspective, there will be encouragement taken from LeBron James' 30-point, 15-assist double-double; the 41-year-old finished one rebound shy of what would have been his fourth triple-double of the season.
But the tape will have been brutal for Bronny James, who was subject to mid-game criticism from his father and was a minus-6 in the six-point defeat.

"Every time Brandon Williams got the ball, he just put his head down and went right after Bronny," said X user @mike_daddino in a video posted Sunday night. "Three straight possessions (in the third quarter), he gets Bronny one-on-one, he roasts him like a pig every time."

Bronny James' G League statistics point to an emerging professional player who has the ability to play in the NBA. But playing next to his father on the Lakers has not brought out Bronny's best basketball, even though he has scored a combined 19 points in the Lakers' past two games.
While Bronny is demonstrating more offensive consistency, he continues to struggle as a point-of-attack defender. It shows that the debate over the 21-year-old's actual ceiling remains heated, with few really sure whether he's going to stick long-term in the NBA.
