The Denver Broncos brought back a running back on their practice squad following a Christmas Day win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
After being waived on Thursday, running back Cody Schrader cleared waivers on Friday and re-signed to the team's practice squad on Saturday. Schrader (5-9, 214 pounds) initially signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri in 2024, then he spent a year and a half with the Los Angeles Rams.
Schrader had stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans in 2025 before landing with the Broncos earlier this month. The 26-year-old running back has one three-yard carry and a six-yard catch in two career games.
Denver now has two running backs on the practice squad as Schrader joins Deuce Vaughn.
Denver still has two open spots on the practice squad. One of those spots could go to backup offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton, who was waived on Friday.
