Have the Denver Broncos found another undrafted gem?

Following the 2025 NFL draft, Toledo wide receiver/returner Jerjuan Newton (5-11, 192 pounds) was among the players who landed in Denver as college free agents.

Newton spent six years with the Rockets, including an impressive stretch in his final three seasons. The 23-year-old receiver totaled 177 receptions for 2,574 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns from 2022-2024. He earned first-team All-MAC honors after posting career highs in receptions (72), yards (1,048) and touchdowns (11) last fall. Newton also received first-team all-conference honors in 2023, and second-team recognition in 2022. His 32 receiving touchdowns are a school record.

In addition to his receiving ability, Newton also returned 23 kickoffs for 368 yards in college. Coming into the draft, he posted a 7.73 RAS score. NFL.com's Chad Reuter had Newton ranked as the 12th-best wide receiver who went undrafted this spring.

Newton will be a long shot to make Denver's 53-man roster, but with productive college numbers and the ability to return kicks, he could be a strong candidate for the practice squad in 2025.
