Which of the Indianapolis Colts' undrafted rookies could make a push for the 53-man roster during training camp and the preseason?

Pro Football Network (PFN) recently selected one UDFA from each team who could make their respective 53-man rosters this season, and for the Colts, Troy wide receiver Landon Parker was the pick.

Now, of all the position groups on the Colts' roster, wide receiver is likely going to be one of the more difficult units to carve out a spot on the team for a UDFA, which PFN did acknowledge.

Featured at this position are Michael Pittman, Josh Downs, and Alec Pierce. Returning for their second seasons are 2024 draft picks AD Mitchell and Anthony Gould, and the Colts also re-signed Ashton Dulin earlier this offseason. That right there is already six players and likely makes up the entire receiver depth chart.

But what makes Parker a player to watch, according to PFN, is his athletic upside.

"While Landon Parker didn’t post eye-popping numbers in college, finishing with just 27 catches for 350 yards in his final season at Troy, his raw athleticism has caught the attention of NFL scouts and evaluators," wrote PFN.

Parker posted a near-perfect Relative Athletic Score of 9.97 during the pre-draft process, which included a 4.40-second 40.

However, while there certainly may be some untapped upside, if Parker is going to make the final roster, it's likely going to have to be because of his ability to make an impact on special teams--there just aren't going to be any snaps on offense up for grabs.

Parker has just 33 career special teams snaps, according to PFF, while Dulin was one of PFF's highest-graded special teams contributors across the NFL last season.

While, of course, we ultimately have to see how Parker performs over the summer, at wide receiver specifically, the path to the 53-man roster doesn't feel all that clear, given the talent the Colts already have at that position.
