The Denver Broncos have restructured wide receiver Jaylen Waddle's contract for salary cap purposes.

The Broncos converted $15.416 million of the receiver's option bonus into a signing bonus, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC-TV. There's no downside for Waddle because he's paid the same amount. The upside for Denver is the ability to spread the prorated cap hits of the signing bonus over the life of Waddle's remaining contract.

Before the restructure, Waddle was set to have a salary cap hit of $4.9 million in 2026. His cap hit will now be $7.96 million, according to Wilson. Waddle's contract includes two void years, so the prorated cap hits from the signing bonus are presumably about $3.08 million each year from 2026 to 2030.

Wilson also reported that new safety Tycen Anderson received a one-year contract worth $1.5 million with $650,000 fully guaranteed. Anderson's deal included a $200,000 signing bonus, and his base salary will be $1.215 million.

Assuming Wilson's math on the Waddle cap hit is accurate, the Broncos have about $16 million in remaining salary cap space. Any unused cap space from this season will be rolled over and added to the team's 2027 total.
