After being designated as waived/injured by the Denver Broncos on Friday, undrafted cornerback Blake Cotton cleared waivers and reverted to the team's injured reserve list. Cotton was then released from IR with an injury settlement on Sunday, according to the NFL's transaction wire.

After the Broncos signed veteran cornerback Sam Webb last week, Cotton told the Denver Gazette's Chris Tomasson that he was being released with an injury settlement. The team had to first designate him as waived/injured as a formality, but he is now a free agent after being cut from IR with a settlement.

Cotton (6-2, 195 pounds) totaled 30 tackles and seven pass breakups in 13 games at Utah last fall. He originally joined the club in June after a successful tryout. The Broncos' remaining cornerbacks on the 91-man offseason roster are Pat Surtain, Riley Moss, Ja’Quan McMillian, Jahdae Barron, Kris Abrams-Draine, Reese Taylor, Jaden Robinson, Sean Fresch and Brent Austin.
