The Denver Broncos are approaching the 2026 NFL draft with seven picks, but that number could change if general manager George Paton makes draft-day trades (as he often does).
In his latest three-round NFL mock draft for Fantasy Pros, Mike Fanelli has the Broncos making two trades within the first three rounds. First, Fanelli projects Denver trading wide receiver Troy Franklin, a second-round pick (No. 62 overall) and a 2027 third-round pick to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for pick No. 48 in the second round.
Following that expensive trade, the Broncos select Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers.
"Unfortunately, the Evan Engram experiment didn’t work out, and the veteran is a free agent next offseason, leaving the team," Fanelli wrote for Fantasy Pros. "Denver can afford to trade Franklin after acquiring Jaylen Waddle last [month]. Meanwhile, the Falcons need a replacement for Darnell Mooney and extra draft capital."
After that, Fanelli projects another trade for the Broncos as the club sends two fourth-round picks (Nos. 108 and 111) and a fifth-round pick (No. 170) to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a third-round pick (No. 92), a fifth-round pick (No. 180) and a seventh-round pick (No. 218). The mock has Denver using that third-round selection to add Miami offensive tackle Markel Bell.
This is what the team's order of picks would look like if they made those two trades.
Making those two mock trades feel like an extremely expensive projected price to land Stowers and Bell, and the team has indicated they are not interested in trading away a wide receiver (although it remains to be seen if that's true). Those projected trades look a lot better for Atlanta and Dallas than for Denver.
The 2026 NFL draft will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23-25.
