The Denver Broncos have to make a decision on linebacker Dre Greenlaw this offseason.

Greenlaw signed a three-year, $31.5 million contract with the Broncos in 2025, but that deal includes a potential out after one season, according to Spotrac.com. Greenlaw will have $2 million of his 2026 salary become fully guaranteed on the fifth day of the NFL's new league year (March 15).

If Denver opts to cut Greenlaw, he will have essentially earned $10.5 million for one season while leaving behind $4.33 million in dead money. The team's net savings for cutting Greenlaw in 2026 would be about $6 million.

The 28-year-old linebacker missed the first six games of the 2025 season with a quad injury, then he received a one-game suspension after his 2025 debut. He later missed the regular season finale with a quad injury. Greenlaw was productive when healthy, totaling 43 tackles, two pass breakups, two quarterback hits, one interception and one sack in eight games (seven starts) last fall.

If the Broncos decide to bring him back for 2026, Greenlaw will have a salary cap hit of $10.35 million.
