It seems that Marcedes Lewis may have had a change of heart.

Lewis, who will turn 42 in May, appeared in five games with the Denver Broncos last season, including one start. The veteran tight end became the oldest player in franchise history to appear in a regular season game with the club.

During an appearance on Shannon Sharpe's "Nightcap" podcast in October, Lewis said 2025 would be his final season.

"This is it," Lewis told Sharpe and co-host Chad Johnson.

Now, five months later, Lewis has changed his mind.

I'm told at the combine TE Marcedes Lewis, who turns 42 in May, wants to play a 21st NFL season. Told: "He loves the game so much." It remains to be seen, though, if he will get any offers after appearing in five games in 2025 with #Broncos. Has interest in coaching at some point

The Denver Gazette's Chris Tomasson reported at the NFL combine last month that Lewis wants to play a 21st season in the NFL. It's unclear if Lewis will get an opportunity, but the desire is there.

The Broncos let Lewis' practice squad contract expire after the 2025 season, making him a street free agent. He has totaled 437 receptions for 5,115 yards and 40 touchdowns in 290 career games, and Lewis apparently wants to keep going.
