Barcelona had been expected to try and bolster their defence this summer but the transfer talk has gone extremely quiet.
Alessandro Bastoni has gone from being a top target to being virtually discarded with his agent admitting this week that he’ll “definitely stay” at Inter.
Marco Senesi was another player linked with Barcelona but he’s moved to Tottenham on a free transfer, while Luka Vuskovic is the subject of a bid from Brighton.
According to The Athletic, the Seagulls have made a £30 million bid for the defender, although there is “strong interest from leading clubs elsewhere in Europe”.
However, the report adds that “Vuskovic’s idea is to join a side like Brighton as the next step in his career” which suggests a deal could be done.
A fee of £30m for Vuskovic sounds like an excellent deal but it looks like Barcelona aren’t in the race for his signature right now.
Should they get involved at that price? Tell us what you think in the comments below!
