Don't have a gif, but I will try to get a capture tomorrow morning.

We watched it a good 20 times at my house and its OBVIOUSLY not his hand grasping the face mask. Morris just reaches up for one reason or another and grasps his own. Robinson is wearing white gloves and both of his arms are visible around Morris' waste. Really just think the ref saw a hand up on the facemask and assumed it was the defense.

Hood had grabbed the guy's jersey with his offhand. At real time it looked like a bad call, but the ref made the right call there. The 2nd face mask though was bad.

I think Morris grabbed his facemask trying to get the offical to make the call. Kind of like how recievers fake like their throwing a flag for PI. I think the call was made before he grabbed his own mask. It looked like BR had his hand around the facemask but never grabbed it, then lowered his hands to the waidt. Then as SM was being tackled he gave the ref the signal that he was facemasked, and the side judge bought it. All in all it was a bogus call.

Good job by Morris. Just like in basketball when players flop, or smack there own hands when going up in traffic.

I agree with the hood call too. It looked clean in "real" time, but the replay showed otherwise.

Right it was a P.I. But it looked like Fitz and Steve Breaston were held a couple times with no call. Wildly inconsistent although I like Mike Carey. But some of his crew are a little subpar.

All three of the flags on that drive - at first glance - looked bogus. But when you review the replays, they were all legit (although I thought Robinson's face mask infraction didn't look deliberate and should have been a 5-yarder.

The most miseading first-look was Hood's interference call. When viewed from afar from the middle of the field, it looked as though he never touched the receiver, but when you took a closer look (from a few yards down the field), he was all over the dude's back and holding him all the way.

Jeff,
What tape are you looking at on the Robinson "face mask"? I have not seen anything that show HIS hands anywhere near the face mask.

And the PI call, while techinically correct, was a call that was not made on several more plays on the Cardinal side.

#39 should be fired as a ref.

If you watch the replay, he grabs an offensive linemen's facemask and then goes and tackles the running back. It was legitimate, it just wasn't where we thought it was. I saw the replay on the big board at the game and it was ALMOST out of the screen. He shoves off the Olinemen by ripping his facemask, then makes the tackle.

I have had the opportunity now to watch the replays. Hood's PI could go either way, I have no problem with the call except for the consistancy issue. Robinson's penalty was wrong. With the initial impact he had an arm high but both went immediatly to the waist. The tv announcers saw the running back's hand on his own mask and said it was legit. There is no 5 Yd penalty any more and that should not have been 15.
