The Seattle Seahawks have a new offensive coordinator in Brian Fleury that will have an impact on the season that quarterback Sam Darnold has in 2026.

According to NFL.com’s Matt Okada, the number that will be definitive for the Seahawks next season is 10, which refers to the number of OCs that Darnold has had in his career, including Fleury, and how the new change may determine his level of success in 2026.

Fleury was with the San Francisco 49ers for seven seasons from 2019-25. He served as defensive quality control in 2019, as well as offensive quality control from 2020-21 before becoming tight ends coach from 2022-24, and most recently, tight ends coach and run game coordinator in 2025.

49ers tight end George Kittle furthered his status as one of the best tight ends in the NFL under the guidance of Fleury in San Francisco’s high-powered offense. Fleury will now be responsible for putting Darnold in position to succeed with his playcalling next season.
