The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced they've completed a virtual interview with former Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan for their offensive coordinator vacancy on Jan. 9.

Callahan was the Titans' head coach from 2024-25, when the team fired him just six games into his second season. He finished with a 4-19 record as Titans coach, including a 1-5 mark in 2025 and a league-worst 3-14 mark in 2024. Prior to his time in Tennessee, Callahan worked as Cincinnati's offensive coordinator from 2019-23, leading the franchise's transition into the Joe Burrow era.

This is the first publicly-announced interview for Callahan since he and the Titans parted ways in October. The Titans are engaged in a coaching search of their own to replace Callahan on a full-time basis. Some of the candidates the Titans have interviewed or plan to interview include former head coaches such as Mike McCarthy, Matt Nagy, Arthur Smith and Kevin Stefanski as well as on-the-rise coordinators like Jesse Minter, Jeff Hafley and Chris Shula.

The Buccaneers have an offensive coordinator vacancy after dismissing Josh Grizzard after just one year on the job. Grizzard's replacement will be the Bucs' fifth offensive coordinator in five years. Prior to Grizzard, both Dave Canales and Liam Coen were promoted from Buccaneers offensive coordinator to head coach, with Canales going to Carolina and Coen heading to Jacksonville.

Callahan, 41, has previously coached in Denver, Oakland and Detroit. His stint in Tennessee was the first time he served as a team's primary play-caller, and he gave up those responsibilities early on in the 2025 season.
