The Detroit Lions are still feeling the effects of their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last week, with two players getting hit with fines on Saturday.

Lions safety Brian Branch received a $11,599 fine from the league for unnecessary roughness for a hit on Eagles wide receiver Jahan Dotson. Branch lowered his helmet to tackle Dotson and collided with him just below his chin strap.

He was flagged in the game for the hit during the game, and suffered an injury himself in the process. The injury, which was listed as a toe injury, hindered Branch at practice the following week.

Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams also received a fine from this game in response to his celebration after hauling in a 40-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff. Williams jumped up and hugged the goalpost, earning an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that likely cost the Lions the following extra point attempt.

He received a $14,491 fine for his antics. Williams later said he didn't know that touching the goalpost during a celebration is a penalty. The NFL specifically installed the rule in 2014 to be an automatic unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
