Brewers set a remarkable franchise record with win against the Rockies

The Milwaukee Brewers are feeling unstoppable again after a recent trip to Mile High City.


The Brewers secured their 40th win in the 2026 MLB regular season with a 12-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, on Sunday, completing a three-game sweep of the Rockies.


But more than that, Milwaukee set a new franchise record for the fewest games needed to register 40 victories.

The Brewers entered the series ranked 29th in the Majors in swing percentage on the first pitch of a plate appearance (25.6%). But they swung early and often on Sunday. It paid major dividends, particularly in a seven-run sixth inning that put the game out of reach and helped this year’s club become the fastest in franchise history to reach 40 wins in a season (63 games).

Brewers defeat the Rockies in series finale in Mile High City​

Making his third career start in the big leagues, Shane Drohan pitched for 6 1/3 innings and allowed three earned runs on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts against the Rockies.

Milwaukee’s offense made sure to give Drohan and the team’s pitching ample run support after Drohan surrendered the first two runs of the contest in the opening frame. In the sixth inning, the Brewers scored seven runs and four more in the ninth frame.


Gary Sánchez had a two-run home run in the sixth inning, which was also his first blast in nearly a month.


Up next for Milwaukee is a three-game series against the Athletics at Las Vegas Ballpark in Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning on Monday night.
