Los Angeles Rams linebacker Nate Landman has signed an extension with the team after playing on a vet minimum deal worth $1.1 million. Coming off shoulder surgery last season, Landman's career was at a crossroads, but 91 tackles and four forced fumbles later, on a vet minimum deal, it has paid off, with Landman agreeing to terms on a 3-year, $22.5 million contract with $15.6 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Landman was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado and spent the first three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. During the offseason with the Rams, he wasn't sure if he would even make the active roster. Still, he played well on a veteran's contract and earned respect around the organization by leading the team in tackles this season and consistently being around the football.

The NFL’s only player born in Zimbabwe has now taken a path through the NFL that will inspire future generations never to quit, from always being a minimum-contract player to being a major contributor on defense for a team in the midst of a Super Bowl appearance.
