MLB wastes no time responding to union chief Bruce Meyer:
‘Our salary cap and floor proposal addresses our fans’ concerns by leveling the playing field while sharing baseball revenue with the players 50/50 like the other leagues. Under our proposal, Major League players will receive more compensation in year one of the system than in 2026. We are ready to listen if the MLBPA wants to counter our proposal at the bargaining table.”

The San Francisco Giants have hired veteran third-base coach Gary Pettis, formerly of the Houston Astros, to become their new third-base coach.
He replaces Hector Borg, who was removed from the position last week, and replaced on an interim basis by Ron Wotus.

Crap, I just got an APN from the MLB app the Burns had a setback and probably won't be back until September now. Strain of his right teres major. That's one of the rotator cuff muscles if you're not familiar with it. I tore my teres minor a bit over a decade ago and it sucked. Hopefully it's not too bad for him.
edit: correction, the teres major isn't technically part of the rotator cuff. I always thought it was since the minor is one of them.
