Former Texas Longhorns EDGE Barryn Sorrell has been drafted by the Green Bay. The New Orleans product was taken 124th in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

In four seasons in Austin, Sorrell had 132 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. He had a noticeable uptick in production his final year at Texas, setting career highs in tackles, tackles for loss, and sacks.

Sorrell tested extremely well at the NFL Combine, running a 4.68 40-yard dash at 256 pounds with a 34-inch vertical and 10’1” broad jump, as well as notching 28 reps on the bench press, showcasing a combination of speed, explosiveness, and strength.

Sorrell routinely wins against tight ends and backs, has great hands at contact and fights his way to the quarterback even after initially being blocked. His consistency is a huge plus in addition to his positional versatility.

He projects as an instant-impact player as an early-down defender with great upside to become a well-rounded force on the defensive line.
