The Las Vegas Raiders fought valiantly, losing 23-21 to the Houston Texans in Week 16. As the 2-13 Raiders dropped their ninth consecutive contest, all that's left in a wasted season is to analyze the team's young players. Rookie right guard Caleb Rogers continued performing admirably against a stout Texans defensive line.
Rogers played all 54 offensive snaps. The former Texas Tech standout was stellar in pass protection. Raiders starting quarterback Geno Smith was only sacked on a reasonable three occasions. Pro Football Focus only credited Rogers with allowing one pressure and zero sacks against the Texans.
Rogers played another clean game. The 98th overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft still hasn't been whistled for a penalty this season. Rogers hasn't been called for an infraction on the first 164 snaps of his career. That's pretty impressive.
PFF also assigned Rogers a run-blocking grade of 62.6. That's an acceptable score in the trenches. Rookie running back Ashton Jeanty rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown, averaging 5.3 yards per carry behind Rogers and his offensive linemen.
Rogers continues to shine for the Raiders. The organization will start rebuilding the roster this coming offseason. General manager John Spytek should feel good about Rogers' long-term outlook.
