the temps on the news are usually taken in the shade, while the temp in the sun can be much hotter (10-20 degrees).

All well and good, but don't come crying to me when you start to hear ESPN guys say that Arizona doesn't deserve a Cardinal team that wins.

According to the Weather Channel, it was 90 degrees and breezy at kickoff. It's not like Arizonans aren't used to the heat. Boo hoo. There are 10 games a season, 8 of them count.

EDIT: and if you believe that 28,000 figure, I have some beachfront real estate to sell you up here in Sac-Town.

K9, you weren't even there. How could you know how many people were there?

On the Cards side of the field, lower level and the South end zone were all a sea of red. The North end zone was a little sparse, but the visitors side of the field, lower level was pretty full. There was easily 25,000 to 30,000 people there.

According to most accurate temperature device I have, namely, my ass, it was hotter than 90 degress out.

Well I've always said that I trust your ass as a weather reporting tool much more than those silly meteorologists at the Weather Channel. :)

SDS is brutal.

Its not just the air temp. Its that, combined with a mostly closed bowl that lets little, if any, breeze into the stadium. Its sitting on metal benches above a huge slab of concrete that has been sitting in that sun from daybreak until seconds before you sat down it. Its being surrounded in close proximity by other hot, sweaty fans as well.

The only people who go to games at that time of year are the true hardcores.

Casual fans know that they can pick games in November and December when the conditions will be very pleasant.

Since "namely, my ass" is underlined, does that mean it's a link to something? I'm afraid to find out.

Nah, I don't know how to pull off the link acrobatics anymore. There used to be a spot where you could type in what you wanted to represent the link, now all I see is a spot for the url address.
So you're safe!

Yeah the North End Zone was pretty empty after the First 5 rows or so. There is about 30 of us diehards that have been down there for years but at games like this that is all. Including some from this board. Me, my brother, Redheart, Azred is somewhere close, SOG and 100% were down there this week. The avengers of course.

That is why there are always fights down there. When a team with a big following comes we are out #'rd. All the dipwads fill in the seats and don't know what they are getting into.

The guys that are down there are loud and proud though and we can make a **** load of noise.
