You are lying to yourself on this one. No one accepts a 20% pay decrease happily. Bonus or not, the active condition is one that vet players like Fitzpatrick, BRadford, and McCown expect to hit.

No one's saying he's happily accepting it, but indicating that he's somehow going to go flaccid the rest of the year and become a distraction is folly. Bradford knew the details of the contract he signed, and with or without the active bonuses, he's going to get paid lucratively.

Additionally, you can make the argument that Glennon should be QB2 either way based on Bradford's poor performance, and you're not going to activate all three.

My biggest concern playing Rosen is that he’ll get injured behind our crap OL. Not that Bradford makes a difference, but if Rosen gets hurt, it guarantees we go 0-16. I’m ok with that. Occasionally, it’s fun to have the Draft be your Super Bowl.

Check the teams who lead the league in sacks given up and you won't find the Cards.

I thought Bradford would perform on the field if he did not get injured.

IMO, this makes the signing all the worse because the Cardinals misjudged his talent and ability to run the team without injury.

This is not wishing bad things on Bradford but it is a terrible managerial mistake.

They thought, because that's what history shows, that Bradford could manage the team if healthy.

Well, as someone else stated, we’ll find out soon enough if the blame is on McCoy or Bradford. I’m sure it’s both, but McCoy’s schemes put me to sleep.

Hindsight is always 20/20 as in this case.

Depending on how Rosen performs as a starter, the Cardinals might have been better off giving him the reigns from the get-go. At least he would have been better prepared to play at this point in the season.

With the Cardinal’s offense consisting mostly of 3 yard slants, they better not lead the league in sacks allowed. A better stat is whether our QB’s have had to pass under duress. Whenever Rosen tried to go through progressions (plural), he did get jacked.

Is Sam Bradford the worst $20M/yr investment by anyone ever?? Not even talking about just football, just in general in any kind of business!!

No wonder even fellow NFL players were ripping the Cardinals for giving Bradford this contract when they did it. People thought they were jealous but no, turns out it’s because they had something called a brain.

A bonus is by its very definition no t guaranteed. Bonuses are paid to employees for excellent performance.

Well, give us that better stat compared to other teams.

'Reins' and you could be right but the plan was to give Rosen time to absorb a host of things. We'll find out if he needed it.

As far as i can tell Arians was hired a week after Keim was promoted to GM. That looks to me like two Bidwill moves in tandem. Could be wrong, that's why i asked.

Look, i couldn't stand Arians' mouth but he was obviously a quality HC and a good hire(Bidwill?).

Wilks was quite obviously a Keim hire. My point is what has Keim done here to hang his hat on in the last 5 years? In terms of personnel decisions, drafting and hiring...not much.

IMO the problem lies squarely with Keim.

Wilks was not obviously a keim hire.
In fact..he looked pissed at the introductory press conference and it was mike bidwill who was throwing glowing praise on wilks... Then mike inexplicably gave keim an early contract extension a couple days later.
Which actually gives the impression keim didn't want wilks... So mike extended him to soothe his angst over being over ruled on the hire

I'm surprised at the level of consternation here.

Bradford was terrible and is a sunk cost. He should be either QB3 or flat out released. I think, should Glennon play, he might do things that are more embarrassing than Bradford, but the offense won't be any worse.

Interesting. So Keim isn't hiring coaches. Was he extended based upon his draft & personnel merits? Yikes.

I give full credit to M.Bidwill for turning the Cardinals franchise around...Green, Whiz and Arians were quality hires but it looks to me like he for sure missed on Keim and now Wilks. The Wilks hire is forgivable i suppose.

I pointed it out at the time. Keim didnt look happy in the wilks PC..but Mike looked elated.
I think Keims extension was a kudo...like, "we didnt choose your guy but I still have faith in you" kinda gesture.

SK has his faults...mostly in the draft.. but he has a decent feel for the pulse of the league.

offense is the new measure of the day and Keim knows that...hiring a defensive coach without any experience and without an absolute offensive guru on his staff is a poor judgement call.....and I dont think Keim made that call..
IMO...purely speculation... I think Keim wanted shurmur or defillippo ...most likely defillippo...to try and emulate the rams by hiring a young offensive mind who may perhaps be innovative in his approach.

I guess it will all play out... if wilks goes but Keim stays..maybe Im right...if they both go together, then maybe you are right.

But Keim not wanting wilks could show why he got loose with his drinking and didnt do much to bring in help for whoever our QB was gonna be.

What has Keim done over the last 5 years? Only has one of the leagues best records. Top 5 I believe.

This is such a clown move by the organization. This is the guy who was going to make us competitive. This is the guy who was going to mentor our QB of the future. Now, we are going to make him inactive, cost him 4 mil, and expect him to advocate for the organization to our young QB. If your employer took away 20% of your wages, would you be a positive mentor for your successor in the organization?

I guess. What is Bradford going to teach Rosen ? How to check it down ? Best places to rehab injuries ? How to slip "ya' know" into every thing you say?

4 million to teach another player how to play when the student has already passed the teacher in skill ?

Not saying you do not have a valid point. Just my counter point.

Rosen has already snatched the pebble from Bradford's hand.

The only way I'm ok with the Bradford benching as a fan is if they promise to use that $4M of extra cap space next year when it rolls over. We need help at every position, but I'd prefer WR or OL so we can set Rosen up for success.
