The NCAA Tournament bracket projection experts at USA TODAY Sports have the Spartans currently sitting tight as one of the top seeds.

As we enter conference tournaments this week, USA TODAY Sports has Michigan State listed as a No. 2 seed in their latest batch of bracketology. The most recent post from the media outlet has the Spartans landing as the No. 2 seed in the East Region, with Duke as the No. 1 seed in that same region.

Michigan State is projected to play No. 15 seed Merrimack in a first round matchup from Buffalo, N.Y. If the Spartans were to win that first round game, they'd move on to play the winner of No. 7 seed St. Mary's and No. 10 seed UCF.

Michigan State finished the regular season with a 25-6 overall record and 15-5 mark in league play. The Spartans are the No. 3 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and will play their first game of the conference tournament on Friday night. That matchup will be against the winner of No. 11 seed Minnesota/No. 14 seed Rutgers-No. 6 seed UCLA.

Across the many different bracketology posts I've seen in recent days, it seems clear that Michigan State is destined for the No. 2 seed in the East Region. That appears to be the most common projection at this time, which can obviously change this week, but my assumption is that's the most likely possibility for the Spartans.
