HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) — Bradwell Institute and Evans will face off for the Region 1-AAAAA championship on Saturday at Bradwell Institute.
Bradwell, who defeated Brunswick, 55-44, received a bye to the semifinals because they won the North Subregion.
In the first game, Evans came from behind to top Statesboro, 56-52. Evans, who earned the top spot in the South Subregion, benefited from a technical foul called late in the fourth quarter.
The whistle came after Statesboro made a basket. Kaden Morring made both free throws and then made a layup on the ensuing possession. The four-point swing gave Evans a 53-52 lead.
In the third-place game, Statesboro will face Brunswick.
