The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its boys basketball draws on Sunday, with seven of the 12 Scioto County schools receiving home games and nine of the 12 boys basketball programs in Scioto County earning a 10 seed or higher in the official bracket reveal on Feb. 15.
A look at the brackets are below:
OHSAA Division V, Southeast District 1 Bracket
In the Southeast District 1 Bracket, the Northwest Mohawks' boys basketball program earned a No. 9 seed and will make the trek east on the James A. Rhodes Appalachian Highway to face No. 8 Wellston in a OHSAA Division V District Quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. The winner of that contest plays either No. 1 Chesapeake or No. 16 Oak Hill/No. 17 West Union in a OHSAA Division V District Semifinal matchup at the Ohio University Convocation Center in Athens on Monday, March 2 at 6:15 p.m.
OHSAA Division V, Southeast District 2 Bracket
In the Southeast District 2 Bracket, No. 7 Portsmouth plays host to No. 10 Piketon in a OHSAA Division V District Quarterfinal while No. 3 Wheelersburg hosts No. 14 Minford in another OHSAA Division V District Quarterfinal, with both of those affairs to occur on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.
The winner of those two contests advance to the OHSAA Division V District Semifinals at the Ohio University Convocation Center in Athens on Tuesday, March 3, with the Portsmouth-Piketon winner playing the winner of No. 2 Ironton and either No. 15 Coal Grove or No. 18 Albany Alexander and either Wheelersburg or Minford playing the winner of No. 6 Fairland or No. 11 South Point. Both of those games would be at 6:15 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.
OHSAA Division VI, Southeast District 1 Bracket
Both of Scioto County's Division VI basketball programs on the boys side are in the Southeast District 1 Bracket, as Valley, who earned a No. 2 seed on the top side of the bracket, will host No. 15 Ripley in a OHSAA Division VI District Quarterfinal matchup that will be held at Valley High School in Lucasville on Friday, Feb. 27. The winner of that contest plays either No. 7 Adena or No. 10 Symmes Valley on Tuesday, March 3 at 6 p.m. in a Division VI District Semifinal that will be held at the Downtown Arena in Waverly.
West, who is on the bottom side of the bracket as the No. 3 seed, will play No. 14 Paint Valley in a OHSAA Division VI District Quarterfinal that will be held on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m., with the winner playing either No. 6 North Adams or No. 11 Southeastern on Tuesday, March 3 at 8 p.m. in a Division VI District Semifinal that will be held at the Downtown Arena in Waverly.
OHSAA Division VII, Southeast 1 District Bracket
In the Division VII realm, No. 16 East will look to play the role of spoiler when it travels to No. 1 Racine Southern on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. in a Division VII District Quarterfinal. The winner of that contest will play either No. 8 Mowrystown Whiteoak or No. 9 Ironton St. Joseph on Monday, March 2 at 6:15 p.m. in a Division VII District Semifinal that will take place at Chillicothe Southeastern High School in Londonderry.
On the bottom side of the bracket, No. 4 Notre Dame hosts No. 13 Trimble in its own Division VII District Quarterfinal matchup on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. The winner of that affair plays the winner of No. 5 Western Pike and No. 12 Miller in a Division VII District Semifinal that will also be played at Chillicothe Southeastern High School on Monday, March 2, with that contest to commence at 8 p.m.
OHSAA Division VII, Southeast District 2 Bracket
In the second OHSAA Division VII Southeast District Bracket, No. 2 South Webster plays host to No. 15 New Boston Glenwood in a Division VII Southeast District Semifinal that will take place on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. in South Webster.
The winner of that game could potentially meet Clay — who travels as a No. 10 seed to No. 7-seeded Manchester for a Division VII District Quarterfinal on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. — in a Division VII District Semifinal matchup that would be held on Tuesday, March 3 at 6:15 p.m. at Chillicothe Southeastern High School.
At the bottom of the bracket, No. 6 Green hosts its own OHSAA Division VII District Quarterfinal when it plays No. 11 South Gallia on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. The winner of that contest plays the winner of No. 3 Leesburg Fairfield or No. 14 Federal Hocking in a OHSAA Division VII District Semifinal at Chillicothe Southeastern High School on Tuesday, March 3 at 8 p.m.
