If the Celtics don't end up trading Jaylen Brown in a deal for Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, then they could still look to move on from him.

Boston could consider using Brown as a trade asset to acquire younger players. Recently, James Stewart proposed a trade idea on 98.5 The Sports Hub, suggesting sending Brown to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for forward Jalen Johnson and guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

Brown is an Atlanta native, so this move would allow him to return to his hometown. However, the Hawks would likely hang up the phone once the Celtics bring up Johnson's name. Johnson is only 24 years old, coming off his first All-Star season, recording 22.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game.

The Celtics would be making a smart move by acquiring Johnson, but the Hawks would be unwise to trade him for Brown, who will turn 30 this year. Brown is currently one of the top 15 players in the NBA, but Johnson is likely to reach that level this season if he can maintain his performance.

There is a possibility that Brown will end up in Atlanta. Yet, the deal would likely involve pairing Brown with Johnson, which would require the Hawks to give up additional pieces to secure Brown.
