Rams safety Adam Archuleta, a native of the Phoenix area who played his college ball in Sun Devil Stadium for Arizona State, took some shots at the Cardinals fan support on Wednesday.

"With the NFL being the sport that it is, it's really ridiculous that you can't fill up a stadium," he said.

Then, he added, with more than a touch of sarcasm, "I don't know the statistics, but I'm pretty sure that Phoenix is a very large city in the U.S. And to not be able to get fans at a major sport, that seems odd."

The Rams get their chance to inspect this desolate scene on Sunday when they will play Bidwill's team at Sun Devil Stadium. The trip prompted a sarcastic comment from Rams safety Adam Archuleta, who said, "I'm sure we're going to get their best shot at home in front of their 17,000,18,000 people."
This is a tricky game for the Rams, who could be overcome by boredom. The low-energy environment at Sun Devil "lulls you to sleep," Archuleta said. "You feel like you're playing an exhibition game, because the fans just dont show up."

For everyone who is going to the game lets make sure not to "lull Archuleta to sleep"

Can you argue with him? This game is going to be a home game for the Rams. The Cards regularly place deep in the basement of the league in attendance. You want to know why the Cards never get a home game on opening day? Because the NFL ALWAYS sets a record for attendance on opening day, and they're not going to break their streak by letting the Cards play the first week of August in front of 20K.

Archuleta's right. The Phoenix market is the worst fan base in the NFL. Cincinnatti laughs at us.

I don't see anything wrong with his statements. Stope being so sensitive. It IS crazy that Arizona can't fill up a stadium--or at least have enough attendence so that the stadium looks semi-full. No body should have to tip-toe around the elephant in the room.

A.A. played ball here and knows what the Cards situation is and has been. He doesn't need to take pot shots at anyone or anything. It's classless. There are things, I'm sure, he wouldn't want folks diggin at him about when HE was at A.S.U. Hopefully plyometrics will work on his brain soon.

Wow some pretty stupid comments. I think Phoenix is a pretty large city? Phoenix is 5th or 6th in the nation, hell mesa is 47th largest, tempe, scttsdale,etc,etc. GEE...hmmm

And regardless if what he is saying is true, it's comments like these that ultimately will pump up the other team, and the Cards might just go out there for a little butt kicking. Poster Board Material.

Also 17,000-18,000 is a little low. That's like saying archuleta only has a few zits. We all know the numbers are higher on both accounts.
