I really hope the coaches let both of these guys duke it out for the slot reciever position with each getting an equaly fair shot. Honestly, I think Boldin will shine in that role. He's made for it and he's going to be huge for us in the red zone. My fear is that they will give the job to Johnson because he was a 1st round pick and they may be passing up someone who could do the job twice as well.

I think they are both accomplished players, and really improved our receiving corps.....so don't worry about them, I think they both will contribute.

A receiving corps of:
1. M-Rob
2. Bryant Johnson
3. Boldin
4. McAddley
5. Kasper

suddenly it wouldn't look sooo bad. A lot of youth, yes, but a lot of speed and good size (other than Kasper).

Well, i like both pickups. They will both help out our team. But I don't see how they can both play the same time if they are both possesion type receivers. But if what i hear about Johnson running a 4.37 is true, then I don't see why he can't be a #3, at least at first. Mcaddley/Boldin/Johnson (i honestly think we don't need M-rob and he would be keeping one of our high rounder off the field.) I fear that since Johnson can return punts he will be the #2 reciever when Boldin may be a much better option.

Do you think Johnson/Boldin will beat out McAddley for the #1 spot? I doubt it. McAddley is our best receiver as of now. And, they are supposed to be a different type of reciever anyway. At least, i know Boldin is. I've heard Johnson is a possesion reciever too. Thats why it's getting hard for me to see how M-Rob fits into our equations anymore. Maybe i'm just drunk:confused:

Oh it's a legitmate question, but the Cards should rely on too many young guys. Bring in a veteran who has had success in this league to go with the young guys.

M-Rob, McAddley, Johnson, Boldin, Kasper, Gilmore, Freddie Jones, Marcel Shipp, and even Emmitt Smith give Jeff Blake a bunch of decently talented targets to throw to.

Very nice indeed!

But I will bet it will be a heated battle for 2-5 spots...

My guess would be:
1. M-Rob
2. Bryant Johnson
3. McAddley
4. Boldin
5. Kasper

but anyway it unfolds looks very very good to me...

Where's Gilmore? I thought he was our fastest WR and the next best thing since sliced bread.

I loved what Gilmore did on special teams. Maybe he will finally be able to perform well at WR.
