Florida football acquired another blue-chip prospect for its already noteworthy 2027 recruiting class — a group that has been ranked as high as No. 5 nationally this spring. New head coach Jon Sumrall and the Gators landed four-star wide receiver Elias Pearl on Tuesday
Pearl's signing gives the program three four-star commitments in the month of May alone.
The Port Charlotte, Florida, product is a major offensive addition for Sumrall, who has begun to stack elite skill position players this cycle. The Gators most recently pinned down four-star running back Andrew Beard last week. Florida now holds 16 commitments in the 2027 cycle, with 11 of those prospects rated at four stars or better.
During a breakout junior season at Port Charlotte High School, the 5-foot-10-inch, 180-pound athlete recorded 69 receptions for 1,052 yards and 13 touchdowns. Also accounting for 11 rushing touchdowns and 2 kickoff returns, the blue-chip receiver was named First-Team All-Region. Thanks in large part to Pearl's contributions, Port Charlotte reached the semifinals of the Florida 4A playoffs.
Florida has been aggressively pursuing multiple elite receivers in the 2027 recruiting cycle. Beyond Pearl, the Gators are also eyeing Louisiana native Easton Royal, a five-star prospect who is touted among the nation's best. Current signees at this position for Florida's class include four-star Anthony Jennings and four-star Tramond Collins.
Pearl is slated at No. 90 overall and No. 16 at his position according to 247Sports composite, while On3 industry rankings have him at No. 95 and No. 17, respectively. He had 12 total offers, including four SEC programs. Pearl chose Florida over Ole Miss, Auburn and Georgia, which had the next best odds of landing the blue-chip running back.
