The New Orleans Saints already made one significant addition at wide receiver this offseason by selecting Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. But Bleacher Report's Moe Moton believes they should add one more veteran piece before the 2026 season begins, sending a "late 2027 draft pick" to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for Josh Palmer.
"If the Bills plan to keep wideout Keon Coleman and allow him a chance to bounce back from a regression season, Palmer could be on the way out of Buffalo after one term," Moton wrote. "The 26-year-old had an uneventful 2025 campaign, hauling in 22 passes for 303 scoreless yards."
Palmer could be pushed down Buffalo's depth chart after the Bills added DJ Moore to a group that already included Khalil Shakir and Coleman. Buffalo's decision on Coleman will be important after the former first-round pick has struggled to build on a successful rookie season.
For the Saints, a team with several young receivers, Palmer would provide veteran experience to help guide them. For Palmer, the Saints have a familiar coaching staff and a clearer path to consistent playing time.
"The Saints can reunite Palmer with head coach Kellen Moore, who called plays for the Los Angeles Chargers offense when the wideout caught 38 passes for 581 yards and two touchdowns in 2023," Moton said. "New Orleans can bring him in as veteran insurance if there are concerns about rookie first-rounder Jordyn Tyson's durability."
Palmer would not need to arrive in New Orleans as an immediate featured option. He'd compete with Devaughn Vele, Ja'Lynn Polk, and other reserve receivers while giving quarterback Tyler Shough another experienced target who already understands Moore's offense.
As for the suggested draft compensation, it would be reasonable, although Palmer's remaining contract would have to fit within New Orleans' plans. If the financial side can be worked out, surrendering a late 2027 selection to take a flier on a previously proven receiver with experience under Moore would be a sensible way to protect the Saints against another injury at the position.
