CUMBERLAND — Clear Spring scored 22 points in the second quarter en route to a 59-18 win over Bishop Walsh on Wednesday.

Dalton Albowicz scored a game-high 20 points for the Blazers, and Jase Alkire joined him in double figures with 15. The duo hit two 3-pointers each.

Carson Hamelin led the Spartans (1-2) with seven points.

Bishop Walsh hosts New Life on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Clay-Battelle 61, Union 53

BLACKSVILLE, W.Va. — Clay-Battelle jumped out to an early lead and held off Union despite 30 points from Braylon Ward on Tuesday night.

Union (0-1) trailed 21-11 after the first quarter but clawed to within 28-26 at the half and 42-37 entering the fourth.

Trey Huggins proved to be too much, pouring in 37 points and drilling five 3-pointers to lead Clay-Battelle to victory.

Ward hit a pair of triples and 14 of 15 free throws. Corbin Streets joined him in double figures for Union with 14 points.

Union is at Paw Paw on Friday at Paw Paw at 7:30 p.m.
