Bills restructure DJ Moore contract to clear 2026 salary cap space

The Buffalo Bills have another update relating to the acquisition of wide receiver DJ Moore.

Buffalo landed Moore in a trade with the Chicago Bears, shipping out a 2026 second-round pick for the wideout and a fifth-round selection in 2026.

The third piece the Bills acquired in that deal was Moore's contract and large salary cap hit which is no more.

According to reports including Spotrac, the team and player have restructured his contract. Doing so has opened salary cap space for the Bills in 2026.

Per Spotrac, general manager Brandon Beane used his tried and trusted method of converting Moore's salary into bonus dollars. That freed up $17.7 million dollars on Buffalo's salary cap for this upcoming NFL league year.

In addition, Beane added a void year to Moore's four-year contract to help spread out future salary cap hits as well.
