The Buffalo Bills could be getting two key players back for the playoffs soon.
Buffalo is set to go on the road to play the Denver Broncos in the divisional round on Saturday afternoon. Ahead of the road game, the Bills announced that the team had designated star defensive tackle Ed Oliver and wide receiver Curtis Samuel to return to practice.
Oliver was placed on injured reserve during Week 9 with a bicep tear. To make matters worse, while he was on injured reserve, Oliver suffered a knee injury and underwent a meniscus cleanup procedure.
Although Oliver had two key injuries, he’s closing in on a return to the field. He’s only played in three games this season due to another injury, but he recorded 12 tackles and three sacks, and one forced fumble.
Along with Oliver, Samuel has been designated to return to practice. Samuel has appeared in six games this season, and he’s been out due to an elbow injury. The receiver has seven receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown this season.
Along with the two returning to practice, the Bills signed wide receiver Kristan Wilkerson to the practice squad and placed wide receiver Gabe Davis on injured reserve. Wilkerson spent training camp with the Bills and was on the practice squad until he was released on Nov. 11.
Buffalo is a 1.5-point underdog against the Broncos on Sunday.
