Bills' Josh Allen will 'break every record' if 1 thing happens originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

The Buffalo Bills' offense is centered around Josh Allen, and while that is a good formula, it isn't a Super Bowl-winning one.

For years, the need to get Allen a genuine No. 1 weapon has dominated each offseason, and while the Bills did get DJ Moore this offseason, he's not an elite weapon.

Still, it's better than nothing, but there is a sense that the Bills are short-changing No. 17 a little.

For Fox Sports' Ralph Vacchiano, ranking all quarterbacks' supporting casts, the Bills are No. 15, with an interesting quote from a scout.

"I’ll never understand why they just don’t go out and get (Allen) a No. 1 receiver," another scout told me. "Put him with a top-10 guy and who stops that team? He’ll break every record in the book."

Why haven't Bills gotten elite weapon?

That is a great question, and in truth, I don't know.

A.J. Brown is reportedly on the move, so why not try to swoop in ahead of the New England Patriots?

That would be a move that could see a serious uptick in form for the offense, or even a move for someone like Nico Collins or Jaylen Waddle (tough for an in-division trade, though).

Moore is no slouch, but he isn't a needle-mover like a true No. 1 weapon should be.

Allen had it in Stefon Diggs years ago, but since? It's been a receiver-by-committee, and it hasn't worked.

Time will tell if the move for Moore will.
