Madden ratings are still a big deal.
They provide a pulse on how NFL players are viewed relative to one another, and so as EA Sports Madden NFL 27 ratings begin to leak, it's a chance for some serious debate.
A top-100 ratings list has leaked on social media, and it shows that six players are set to get the honor of being rated a 99 overall in the launch of this year's game.
Buffalo Bills superstar QB Josh Allen is one of them.

The others are:
- Rams DE Myles Garrett
- Rams QB Matthew Stafford
- Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase
- Cardinals TE Trey McBride
- Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba
That puts Allen equal with Stafford as far as overall rating among quarterbacks.
The next-best overall rating for a QB is Joe Burrow at 97.
Lamar Jackson is a 94, and Patrick Mahomes is a 93.
It certainly makes sense for Allen to be rated as highly as he is. It's like he was designed in a lab to be a video game superstar QB.

He's got the prodigious arm strength, incredible running power and even some impressive speed when he gets moving.
Allen should be tough to stop in a video game, just like he is in real life.
For what it's worth, his AFC East rival Drake Maye of the Patriots is listed as a 92 overall.
Ratings could always change, or this leak list could be off-base, but it appears legitimate.
The Bills' next-best player after Allen on this list is James Cook, who is a 94 overall.
