Damar Hamlin may be back this weekend.

And the Buffalo Bills might just need the previously injured safety to seize the moment in a big way.

Hamlin hasn't played since Week 6 due to a pectoral injury.

But he was recently activated to make his return from Injured Reserve, and he's practicing fully this week for the Bills.

Buffalo is in Denver on Saturday to take on the Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round, and Hamlin's return may not be subtle.

The Bills won't have Jordan Poyer, who has been ruled out. That leaves a starting spot open next to Cole Bishop. It might be Hamlin's.

The other options are Cam Lewis, Jordan Hancock and Darnell Savage.

None feel like great choices.

Hamlin comes with risk, of course. He hasn't played in a few months.

But he has started in the past, essentially holding down a starting role for the entirety of the 2024 NFL season.

The Bills may not have a ton of other choices. Even if Hamlin doesn't start, he could be called upon if the starting choice struggles.

For Hamlin to play, he'll have to officially be activated off IR. If that moves happens in the days ahead, it's a sign that Hamlin is looking at a crucial playoff role to try and help the Bills advance.
