Okay, this is what happened:

Internet was working fine, except for a few outages by my router for some reason.

I shut down the computer, take out the ram, processor to clean them, and when i restart, I can't connect to the router.

Finally, i get it working somehow, by rebooting the router, but now my internet connection is dragging like hell.

Any thoughts?

Done that a bunch of times now...good idea, but that's not the problem.

I have another computer hooked up to the network and it runs fine.

Maybe my motherboard is going, this network adapter is an on board one.

Do you get blinking lights in the back....if not you may have shorted it.

Have you tried resetting your IP address by doing a release and renew?

How do you do that exactly in XP Pro? Repair?

Because I can't get "winipcfg" to work.

Thanks. Did it, not sure I see any big changes really, but i'll check it out.

Gonna get a new network card tomorrow, to see if that fixes it.

Trying uninstalling the card's driver in device manager, and then restart so windows reinstalls the driver. Or better yet, make sure that the driver is of the latest version available.

Installed a new card, and it works fine...the old one must be shot.
