Juan Mata, the former Chelsea and Manchester United star, continues his career at Melbourne Victory in the A-League, where he’s establishing himself as a true midfield maestro. In the latest clash against Sydney FC, the 37-year-old Spanish playmaker delivered three assists, playing a pivotal role in his team’s emphatic 4-0 victory.
After a spell at Real Madrid and stints across Europe and Japan (with Vissel Kobe), Mata is now embracing the Australian adventure. His vision and pinpoint passing are making all the difference for Melbourne Victory, who remain mid-table and just five points behind league leaders Auckland FC.
The Spanish veteran is under contract until mid-2026 and continues to bring his experience and technical brilliance to the squad.
