The 2025 NFL draft is right around the corner, and all 32 NFL teams, including the Chicago Bears, are finalizing their draft plans before things kick off in Green Bay.

In the 21st century, the tight end position has risen in the NFL. Every team in the league is looking for an impact player or two at that position to help them win. We've seen guys like Rob Gronkowski, Travis Kelce, Tony Gonzalez, Jimmy Graham, and George Kittle redefine the position. Their teams always found (or still find) themselves deep in the playoffs, and it isn't much of a coincidence.

Some tight ends make a living with their receiving production. Some are elite blockers. A few gems are great at both. Having multiple guys on a roster who can play this position at an NFL-caliber level can be the difference in a team making the playoffs or missing out.

Is there going to be a guy like that in the 2025 draft? Although it is unlikely, it is possible. A handful of players at this position will be selected in hopes that they can make an impact on an offense.

With that in mind, we're taking a look at the best tight ends and when they should be available between Days 1, 2 and 3.

Day 1

  • Tyler Warren, Penn State
  • Colston Loveland, Michigan

There isn't a tight end prospect like Brock Bowers in this class. Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland are good, but they will take some developing to become producers in the NFL. Warren has a chance to go in the Top 10, if a team deems him worthy of such a selection. As for Loveland, he will likely go in the second half of the first round to a good team looking to enhance their offense.

Day 2

  • Mason Taylor, LSU
  • Elijah Arroyo, Miami
  • Harold Fannin Jr., Bowling Green
  • Terrance Ferguson, Oregon

This group of tight ends could come to the NFL and be pretty good. These players are more likely to end up on good teams that will use them the right way. It isn't a guarantee, but most of them will go in the latter stages of the second and third rounds.

Day 3

  • Gunnar Helm, Texas
  • Mitchell Evans, Notre Dame
  • Luke Lachey, Iowa
  • Oronde Gadsden II, Syracuse
  • Thomas Fidone II, Nebraska

On Day 3, every pick is taking a chance on someone who you see has tools. High-producing tight end schools like Notre Dame and Iowa are worth considering at this stage of the draft. Not every tight end that comes to the team has to be Rob Gronkowski in his prime for them to be worth it. A good player who can block, create chaos with routes, and perhaps produce a few yards here and there can be valuable to any team. Don't be surprised if a smart team drafts and develops one of these guys into a useful player.
