Bernardo Silva agrees two-year contract with Real Madrid – report


Having secured deals for Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries, Real Madrid may now be closing in on their third major signing of the summer.


Indeed, the Merengues are in advanced talks with Bernardo Silva over a free transfer, with a contract offer already being tabled.

Agreement reached​



Building on that, journalist Ben Fernandes Santos reports that Silva and Real Madrid have now reached an agreement for him to complete a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Indeed, as per the report, the Portuguese international has agreed a two-year contract with Los Blancos until the summer of 2028.


On top of that, the deal will contain the option of an additional year which can be activated depending upon the number of appearances during his second season at the club.


So, everything indicates that the former Manchester City captain will become a new Real Madrid player in the coming days, although an official announcement might not be made until after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With Jose Mourinho returning to Real Madrid this summer after 13 years, he has been actively contributing to the club’s transfer moves this summer.


Even though Real Madrid had appeared reluctant to sign Bernardo not very long ago, Mourinho’s arrival as manager made the 31-year-old versatile playmaker a priority target.


The Portuguese tactician values his compatriot’s versatility, experience, leadership, and winning mentality, and believes all of this will make him a quality addition to the squad.


Silva was also being pursued by both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, but it appears that he has decided to join Mourinho’s project at Real Madrid.
