Berlin Brothersvalley High School was selected as one of T-Mobile's Friday Night 5G Lights $5,000 winners Monday, Aug. 10. Berlin Brothersvalley is one of 13 schools in Pennsylvania to win $5,000 thus far.
The national competition is centered around high school football and community pride. The funds can be allocated towards Berlin Brothersvalley's programs that are most in need, whether it is academics, athletics or the school community.

"We have always been blessed with great community support, and we also have a strong social media presence, which helps with the T-Mobile awards," said Berlin Brothersvalley Athletic Director Doug Paul. "This money is going to be used to make some upgrades to our press box area. We have some big ideas if we can continue moving on through the rounds."
T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights will award more than $8.4 million in prizes to high schools in towns with under 150,000 people. Berlin Brothersvalley has the potential to win $25,000 plus a T-Mobile home game celebration if selected as one of the program’s 40 division finalists, $250,000, a Gronk Fitness Gym valued at $90,000 and a $5,000 student leadership award if voted one of four division champs, or a $1 million full football field transformation if selected the grand prize winner.
Berlin Brothersvalley upgraded its newly named Center Rock Inc. Sports Complex with updated lighting and a scoreboard at the football field as well as upgrades to the baseball field and the soccer and track and field outdoor area. Berlin Brothersvalley was able to make these upgrades through corporate sponsorships that the school district received along with numerous private donors and grants.
