The Cincinnati Bengals didn't remove snow from the seats at Paycor Stadium on Sunday before kickoff against the Baltimore Ravens.

According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the organization's refusal to do so is in violation of NFL league policy on the matter.

Florio cites a specification that says that each team “is responsible for having a snow removal plan in place and ensuring that its stadium has adequate snow removal equipment available.”

The Bengals responded to the allegation with this, per Florio: “Seat aisles were prioritized and are in good shape. Seats are easily wiped off and ushers are equipped to help there.”

It’s a weak response by the Bengals, if the “snow removal plan” is having the ushers wipe down seats for fans as they arrive.

Context matters. In locations like Buffalo, it’s considered great that fans show up to help shovel. In Cincinnati, the Bengals’ reputation nationally is well-known and this approach and response, unfortunately, align with that reputation.

The Bengals probably did right in terms of general stadium safety and protected everyone to fit NFL rules.

But ushers attempting to brush ice off seats in a negative wind chill during one of the coldest games ever at Paycor Stadium is a brutal look:

Not a big deal

Welcome to the (frozen) Jungle!

We saw fans scraping ice off of their seats with credit cards
