It’s hard to miss the vibes around the Cincinnati Bengals right now.

The Bengals are all-in and the moves by the front office have helped create the new energy.

It also helps that there aren’t any major contract standoffs right now. Cornerback DJ Turner is the exception, but he’s in town and saying some notable things.

“It’s definitely a good vibe right now,” Turner told Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. “We did add a whole bunch of players on our side of the ball and it’s just exciting, honestly. Everybody wants to win. I was the last one here. This was my second day and I could tell everybody was just on the same page, wanting to work, wanting to win. That’s what it all comes down to — those two things.”

One year ago?

Trey Hendrickson was in street clothes on the sideline giving an interview about his standoff while his teammates practiced behind him.

Shemar Stewart, a rookie, was in the locker room bashing the front office before leaving.

Now?

Hendrickson is gone, Stewart got his contract standoff ironed out and the Bengals have done things like trade for Dexter Lawrence.

Make no mistake, there’s still time for things between the Bengals and Turner to go south. But given how the Bengals have moved this offseason and comments and attendance from Turner himself, there’s no reason to think a repeat of last year is on the way.
