On a hot, humid night at Fenway Park, tensions boiled over between the Boston Red Sox and Washington Nationals.

For the second day in a row, Red Sox star Willson Contreras was ejected.

He ignited a brawl after striking out looking against Nationals starter Cade Cavalli in the bottom of the fourth. Cavalli appeared to yell, "Sit down, boy," at the 34-year-old first baseman, which Contreras did not appreciate.

Contreras and Cavalli jawed for a minute before Contreras charged the mound and threw his helmet at the pitcher, inciting a brawl between the two clubs as both benches cleared. Contreras was ejected, but Cavalli remained in the game.

After the game, Cavalli explained that Contreras nearly ran into him while exiting the field in the bottom of the first inning, which he took personally.

Meanwhile, Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy said that Contreras immediately apologized after doing so.

Regardless, the two clearly had beef on Tuesday night, and it escalated into a full-on fight.
