Despite not being signed to the Steelers, it's no secret that Aaron Rodgers may be one of the most polarizing figures in Pittsburgh sports right now. It appears that the Black and Gold faithful either love or hate the four-time MVP — there's almost no in-between — and Pittsburgh legend Ben Roethlisberger believes Rodgers missed his chance to truly make an impact on the Steel City at Big Night AHT.
While discussing Pat McAfee's hit Pittsburgh-based event on his podcast, Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger, the former Steelers QB had this to say about Rodgers' no-show at Big Night AHT:
"I didn't believe him, sorry Pat," Big Ben joked about McAfee shooting down a Rodgers appearance. "I asked him, 'Is Aaron coming?' And he goes, 'No. But if he is, I absolutely will take him.' Like that would be huge news, right? I still kind of thought there was a chance he was going to sneak out and do something — the roof might've come off [Big Night AHT]. He did not obviously announce there, but it would've been crazy."
Rodgers truly did miss a chance to fire up the Pittsburgh Steelers fan base at Big Night AHT — and now, his only real shot at earning their approval may be to end the playoff win drought that has plagued the Steel City since 2017.
